It was just a short visit when I saw the breathtaking shape of the High Line emerging from the industrial buildings of the Meat Packing District.
With eyes closed I could remember Scofidio saying "I see a lot of proposals where people want to create High Lines and it's just too much architecture. What makes it so successful is that it's not an architectural statement. It's really about growing out of what was there in a very quiet way”.
This is a simple view of an amazing project that still connects neighborhoods knowing that “the city that we built the High Line for is now a different city. And in ten years it will be different still."
